synopsis.
Together with Fusion the Resin team co-developed this ground breaking DVD product. Co-directed filming and then handled design and post production for the feature-length DVD.
The film_shoot featured underwater photography and detailed analysis of Australia's greatest ever swimmer. A 60 camera array was employed to capture a moment in time of Ian Thorpe's diving technique and motion graphics were used to enhance the learning experience of the user.
An innovative concept for the menus has Thorpey swimming laps with a series of comical interactions with the user if they take too long to make a selection. The design for the menu also had the benefit of being able to be used as an in-store loop for retailers, sure to grab passers by attention as Thorpe sign's the inside of the TV screen or avoids an underwater explosion.
Achievements for the product have been enormous with the highest ever pre-sale by a distributor (Roadshow Australia) for the Sporting Genre. The product entered the market at premium price point due to distributors assessment of quality and originality of product.
Material developed for Beneath the Suit has been sought after and integrated into several other broadcast and advertising campaigns, including;

- Sony Tokyo TV Campaign (x5 TVC's)
- Audi A3 TV Commercial
- Omega Switzerland TV Commercial
Industry recognition suggests this has become one of the most successful products of it's kind and to date is the only DVD to have ever won an AGDA (Australian Graphic Design Association) Pinnacle award, the highest accolade awarded.
