AGDA 2006 - Finalist
Resin worked with Mario Andreacchio on his feature film Elephant Tales to design and develop the brand for the film and the opening title sequence. The film set in Africa follows an orphaned baby Elephants journey to be reunited with it's mother.
With a relatively open brief Resin developed the concept for the opening sequence which is delivered as an African cave painting. After in depth research into African typography and design Resin digitally painted the first component of the main sequence and animated through the details of the painted main title as the animals from the film were introduced as a simplified animated silhouettes stamped over the painting. The typography was then stamped over the live action component for the remaining titles.
Resin produced an English and French version of the sequence as well as supplying elements for other branding applications. The work by Resin has ultimately been used to brand all aspects of the film. This has been used in a multitude of formats from posters, in store displays, billboards, web site and other advertising materials.
The quality of the work exceeded all expectation of Universal Pictures, Myriad Films and most importantly our client, the Director, Mario Andreacchio.
The film was released in France in 2006 and in Australia 2007. Visit elephant_tales.com for more on the film.
The second component to the sequence will be online once the film is released in Australia in 2007. We kindly thank Mario for allowing us to show this first component.
